do you run cable housing the full length of the bike to the rear brake, or do you use the cable stops on your frame? ive noticed that my front brake is much more powerful and never needs adjusting (full housing), whereas my rear brake seems grittier and needs to be adjusted often (i use the cable stops). im thinking of running housing the full length of my bike. what do you guys do?

I have stops. Works fine for me.

You might try better cables. It's supprising how much streatch you can get in a long cable. Dont forget 3/4 of your stopping power comes from the front. I like XTR cables btw.

I have full length brake housing front and back. If your frame's cable routing makes it difficult to run full length housing, I probably wouldn't bother doing so. Instead, just change your housing (or maybe just clean it out) more frequently.

I use Slick Honey grease on the cables; that will solve the problem right away.

I asked for those in my LBS, they said they are used for BMX only, but i'm pretty sure they can be used for MTB as well...

Can be used really easily.

I think if you want the best feel buy the best compressionless stuff you can. like avid flak jackets, or I've been looking at those delta aztec lines that actually have steel tubes stacked inside, that seems pretty serious. I ran and am running avid straight jackets though

We have these things at our shop that the cable goes through before it goes through the stop, only they are full of grease with the idea that the grease will pick up any moisture and grit before it gets way down the housing. I don't know what they are called though. They are similar to the rubber things on the last seat stay stop that come on bikes with the rear D cable run down the seat stay. alright, so that is confusing as hell, my apologies.
