Anyone have any leads in terms of finding a 26" 36 hole Raleigh pattern rim for a Raleigh Sports. I'm running a French endrick in the rear of one of my Sports bicycles right now and would like to replace it with a Raleigh rim. Ebay seems pretty dry right now. I saw that Bikeville in Philly has some but they seem a bit steeply priced for just a rim (and a common variety of rim at that).

Try the fellows at Oldroads.com's English Roadsters forum. Been a tad slow there, but someone should be able to help you out.
Sooner or later one will pop up on eBay too. Don't rule-out complete wheels either, the seller may be willing to de-lace it for you if you don't need the hub.
One other thing: Don't pay B-V prices.

Ah yes, I've had some good finds on OldRoads discussion but haven't seen much on there lately. I wish Menotomy Bikes would stock old rims, their prices are pretty good.

You might want to call Vinny anyway - he might be willing to sell you one of his spare rims, if he still has a few of them. Worth a shot.

Hi, passed him an email today, still entertaining different offers as I'm looking for a rim in good condition or better (though it need not be perfect).

bump: got the rim and it cleaned up ok. Still enough pits though that I'm considering offers on pitless rims. Same specs as above apply.
Are you looking for an Endrick or Westrick rim. I have a Westrick wheelset in I think 32/40 with tires. I have to check condition though. I also have some Endrick rims but don't know if I have 36 hole in non French or Japan makes.

He's looking for a "Raleigh" or "Sturmey-Archer" stamped Westrick 36h rim, if I'm not mistaken.

You've struck a nerve - contact me offlist and send me some pics!
P.S.: That's the rim, but it appears to have rusted through where the chrome has rubbed off the braking surface, correct? Not sure if Mike would be happy with this rim.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm looking for a 36 hole Westrick style rim for a Raleigh Sports. The quality should be one where the rust isn't through the chrome finish yet. Surface rust that hasn't broken through the finish is fine, I can clean chrome up pretty well. I don't have the chroming stuff to restore lost finish though so I'm trying to avoid that. Let me know what your asking price is for any rims that fit that description. The rim is for a restoration project, so I'm trying to keep the quality of the parts fairly high.
