I just got a new job and I'm thinking of starting a new full suspension project. I've only ridden hard tails in the past and I'm interested in a full suspension frame that has a stable pedalling platform that will climb similar to my hardtail. I was thinking of a Santa Cruz Blur xc/lt with the VPP suspension, or something from Intense. Money isn't a huge concern, but I don't want to spend all my money on a frame and not be able to put quality components on it. I do mostly XC riding, but I'm looking to get more aggressive with more travel. I'm very used to my SS hardtail so I probably won't run a 3X9, but a 1X9 drivetrain. I'm thinking 130mm of travel front and rear. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Nick

I'm a big Santa Cruz fan. Have you looked at the Santa Cruz Nomad? It's a cross between the Blur and the VP-Free, so it is a good trail bike, climbs good plus is strong enough for hitting a jump, if that is what you mean by "more agressive".

Nice thing about getting a bike built from the frame up is picking the components YOU want on it, enjoy!!

Yes, I would like to hear this as well.

Also, hang onto the hardtail, use it to keep your eye for the trail sharp. Full Suspension can make one's eye a bit lazy.

Don't worry, I have no intention of getting rid of the SS HT. I'm a huge fan of the simplicity. I'm looking to get into some more aggressive riding (drops and jumps) and I thought that a full suspension bike would be fun.

I think the Anthem is the new race bike. I have a friend with one. I was thinkin' "take it easy" may be some sort of code.

I forgot to mention that the frame should be avalable alone. I do not want to buy a complete bike.
