Mountain Biking - Anyone have any experience with IRD Dual Bangers?

I'm thinking of buying a rear one, because my current MX1 is just sucking out. Appearently they sandwitch the disc instead of pushing it. Sounds like they should work well, but I'm worried about stength. I really don't want one to break. Does anyone have any experience with them? Would anyone recommend it over an Avid bb7?

The FAQ on this forum recommends the only worthy mechs are BB7s and IRD Dual Bangers so that must count for something...

Read the test in Mountain Bike Action - - 2005, not sure the issue. They're definitely not BB7s, but they are interesting.

they're not that great, if you want dual action brakes, get some hydros. bb7s are where its at thp (simply search the forum, and youll find a ton of threads about them)

I have a front BB7 already, it's a good brake, although, I don't find it any more powerful than my original MX1 that came with my bike. Both 8 inch front rotors, and I found that when the Mx1 was working well, it had more power than the BB7's do.

I need a rear brake that is strong enough to do some trialsy stuff. My current rear Mx1 (6 inch) doesn't have the power to lock with my weight in the rear. I'm not really wanting to go with bb7's. :p

Hydro might be your only option to get the kind of lockup you're after. Find a buddy who's upgrading out of his HFX-9s.
