U.P.S. man delivered the frame for my ss project today. Unfortunately, G.O.D. man delivered an obscene amount of snow today, too. This is why I hate March in Wisconsin.

The frame is an '03 Gunnar Ruffian which I plan to pull out of retirement piece-by-piece in the coming months. So far all I've come up with is a Vicious fork, a full set of SRAM 9.0 brakes and levers, and a Bontrager Race Lite SS crankset with Race Face Evolve BB (haven't had to resort to eBay yet, though).

Can't wait to see it built up. What gear combo you gonna run? You're gonna spray the inside w/ frame saver after taking pics of it in the snow, right?

I knew I'd catch heck for posing it in the snow. :D

Frame's already been treated, and I wiped her down real good once the "shoot" was over. Not sure yet what gearing I'm gonna run. Front ring is a 32. I'll test things out a bit more on my geared bike to get a general idea. It kinda depends on what type hub I put in the rear, too. If it's a cassette-type hub I'll buy 2 or 3 different cogs to try out. If I go the freewheel route, not so much.

Nice. Does that frame have an EBB or do you have horizontal 'dropouts'?

Somewhere beneath the snow there are a pair of track-style dropouts. I think the Ruffians started coming with standard EBBs in '05 maybe?

congrats! If funny how I can get hyped about someone else's build. I don't know what's best for sure, the actual build or the Aaaaahhhhh feeling you get when you ride something you've built. Either way enjoy it!
