Hello,
In another post I asked about touring parts of Florida, and I thank everyone for the info provided. This time I have a more specific question.
I came to Florida in early Feb and did some touring, and now, suddenly, I LIVE here--not far from Coral Gables (Miami area) in case any of you locals would like to send me a message. It's a long story how that happened, but so far it feels great. I even found a job, which begins in one week. Yea! So if you go on a tour, long or short, you may not want to come back either.
Anyway, now for my question:
The first tour I want to do is from Miami to the Keys. It appears the only route worth anything is to simply follow Rt. 1 most of the way. Can anyone provide info on riding a bike that route? Shoulders? Reasonably safe? Stores, campgrounds, motels--or are there drawn-out stretches without sevices? Any and all info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
David in PA
