BMX - who likes dirt jumping?!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, 33-12 is the only other one of those ratios that's exactly 2.75:1...

i no theyre not exactly the sames, but so close it doesnt really matter. 44 divede buy 16 gives you a ratio of 2.75 and 28 divided by 10 gives you a ratio of 2.8
all my friends have 180mm cranks with 39/14 and two have 44/16. I have 175mm I have gone through 39/15, 33/12 and 25/9 while they had their gearing. It didnt change the results of when we race and when i get on thier bikes it feels the same.

To his credit, there are some things (other than gearing) that make some bikes feel faster than others, but the rider is far more important than the bike as far as speed goes.

For Instance He wites explanations about tricks that includes one actual trick. He should have a review for manuals not wheelies, a wheelie isnt going to help you anywhere unless your trying to impress kindegardners. As for what he calls a "flick out" its not really a trick. However it is something good for a newbie to do to get used to manuevering a bike in the air.
you have too start some where u know

Eight-feet would be an approximation. It's not like I went out there with a tape measure. It's about two bikes long, wheel to wheel.
you mean you dont build your trails with a tape measure?!?!?!

less dirt = more work when you dcide to fix up the jump after it gets messed up
Not if you DIRTFT (do it right the 1st time).

usually youll find yourself wanting to change lines up becuase either there small or you get bored or in the rare case, you built them bad...
