has anyone had an encounter with a guy who seemingly likes to draft random people in the park?
I don't know if I'd say I've ever had an 'encounter' with him, but I know who you're talkin about and I don't like riding with or near him. :fight: There are other messages in this thread about the guy you're referring to.

ahh, i see those now. i didnt realise that was the same guy. figured if there was one there may have been more.
last week i was riding through the park after work and this dude was right up my a$$, even after i slowed down to a crawl just to taunt him a bit. he eventually went around me. i need the spyhunter car gadgets on my bike. wonder how he'd deal with the smokescreen/oil slick combo.

some people just get tired and dont wanna slow down, they also want to practice their paceline
granted to do this with a total stranger who may have zero experience with someone on their rear wheel is irresponsible and selfish.
it makes it more satisfyig dropping them off the back though.

to do this with someone you arent riding with & dont know is equivalent to tailgating in a car. it's not just irresponsible, it's dangerous.

Races take a lot of coordination... more than I can imagine. But organizing something simple would be a dream - I miss riding fast among friends. Weather.com says next two thursdays are going to be nice.

i've actually been trying to get people together for riding the park on a different forum, but i had the same exact idea: fixed gear, thursdays, 9pm, riding really fast. geared or SS is cool too though.
i know i'll be there tomorrow night. i'll probably hang around the main entrance for a little while to see if anybody shows up.

ok, i'm gonna try to make it there this week closer to 8pm. i don't get out of work until 6:30 and i work way up in midtown. so rather than go home just to go back out again, i'll probably be getting dinner in park slope around 7:30 and then riding around.
