In the past few weeks, the time to load up pages has gone from 6-7 seconds to the 15-20 range. It's gotten so I need several windows open, hit a link on BF, then read somewhere else while my progress bar churns away.
When the page finally does load, it snaps into place rather quickly. So, there's something causing fairly high latency, rather than strangling the bandwidth. Here's what I know:
- The problem happens on Cox cable modem, also on my shared T3 at work
- Ping is a bit slow (60-75ms)
- Traceroute gets to about 13 hops then starts to bog down and die at 'theplanet.com'
So, are you getting these complaints from other people? Or, is this isolated to San Diego?
