Introductions - Another Newbie from Phoenix

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's been about 20 years since I rode any amount, but am hugely interested in road biking for ftness and fun. I have already found some great information leading me to making what I hope it the best purchase for my situation. I am looking forward to the discussions and the comraderie.

Good name for this site, the name suits your climate. And your climate will call for care during the summer. Fluid intake, light clothing, heat adaptation, and controlling how hard you exercise will see you thru your first summer. Cold is more of a problem for some of us. Like the guy who said it had warmed up to -40 F so he went for a ride. He complained about the rock hard gifts the sled dogs left on the road :D .

Been in AZ for 10 years, so have an understanding of the heat. The good news is that I am building a 2nd home up in Show Low. 6400 ft and much cooler. Beautiful mountian country. Of course, I'll have to learn to breathe up there to ride.... Understand the gifts left behind by the sled dogs too. Before AZ, I was in Northern Minnesota. At -40, I'd imagine the crank is much harder to push, and you can't get enough sox into those road shoes.....
Thanks for the greeting.
