Im wanting to know what is the best known REAR mountain bike tire these days? Texas hard pack terrain?

I tried looking on line for my race favorates and couldnt find them? I used to ride about 5 years ago and im just not getting back into mtn biking. I would always ride Continental Pro 1 or Pro 2 in the rear depending on weather conditions (mud or hard packed). whats the latest and greatest. I have a hardtail litespeed.

Please help? Thanks!!

- JasonI'm real happy with the Nevegal Stick-E rear/Blue Groove Stick-E front set-up that my LBS talked me into . Yes the do wear out quickly , but the grip is great on hardpack+rocky sections , and they float through the deep sandy washes as well as you could hope to.

I love my velociraptors but I live in the far east side of Texas. If your in west TX that is totally different terrain, shrug.

My hansventure work super on hard surfaces and wide turning but theyre okkk in stuff like mud, water, and sand.

I ride in Houston and Huntsville, so probably don't get as much rock and hardpack as you; but the Nevagals have worked well on the new Superlight. I'm surprised at how well they roll on the dry dirt and rocks we DO get (like Warda or Smithville), and they're pretty good in the wet.
