Classic & Vintage - Burley Trailer on a 1957 Ladies Roadmaster?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. This is a good example of what I have become. In order to keep being able to keep bringing home bike/bike parts/mysterious boxs from UPS on the front porch and not have my wife think I am having an affair in my basement workshop, I asked her what kind of bike she might like. I was told "something with a coaster brake and something that my feet can touch the ground when i stop and am on the seat and looks cool." Hence the 57' roadmaster w/ stars in the chainring and jets on the chain guard (craigslist pick up). Now with a baby due at the end of May I was wondering if it is possible to attach a burley type trailer to this bike as there is very little seat post showing. any help would be appreciated.

PS_ To all of you Raleigh fans out there, She rejected the 1976 coffee(metallic brown) colored sprite 3 spd ladies bike I brought home that has a front basket and rear rack and looks brand new. Oh the horror!

Not to change the subject, but what did you do with the Sprite?

Cleaned and hanging in the basement.

Burley's hitch attached to the bike at the seat stay.chain stay junction at the rear axle. Unless those faux jet engines get in the way, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Go for it, but hang on to the Sprite. I bet she'll be begging for something nicer than that Roadmaster before too long.

No way, your wife knows style and comfort, and the roadmaster wins on both counts!

I use our trailer on my '82 lotus...only thing I do is a few wraps of electrical tape around the chainstay.
