Dear all,

I am a biker from the Netherlands and I am looking for drop bar rear-view mirrors made by Mirrycles that can be attached to the brake hood of drop handlebars. ( See: http://www.mirrycle.com/originalmirrycle.htm[/url] ). They seem no longer available though the manifacture claims they are still available. Does anyone know an (internet) store that has them in stock?

Many thanks,

Peter

You can order it directly from them:

The bike shops stopped carrying them after "aero" brake levers became the norm since their mounting area disappeared. The advent of STI/Ergo levers killed their sales completely.

I had them on several older bikes and have adapted a couple of aero levers to use them by cutting a flat on top of the housing and drilling and threading it for a long M5 bolt. Now I use the Third Eye bar end mirror and have found it very satisfactory.

I still miss having that type of mirror. It was the easiest to use and was not bumped out of alignment like the bar-end types necessary to use with the new brifters.

I have thought about trying something like the other poster - creating some anchor point but I don't think it would be too secure on the plastic-housing of the Shiman brifters.

I do have one hiding somewhere in the basement on my crashed old Trek.
