Hi,
looking for some suggestions here. I have been trolling ebay for weeks looking
for cantis without luck. There are lots of shimanos, and similar. But what I want to find is one with the real long cantilever arms. There were several brands making them in the 80's/90's. V brakes won't work with my new frame, I have some old
Diacompe shorty cantis.....but...I really want a little more stopping power than that. I know about Pauls, I don't like the cantilevers sticking straight out. Thanks!

Even though the Pauls stick "straight out" they're going to give you the absolute best braking power you can get from Canti's. I've ridden them on cross bikes, and on old-school XC bikes, and they absolutely RULE. Plus they get props for being fully-machined billit-aluminum.

I'd seriously consider them bro. Last I've seen you can get a set for around $50.00 ..

(well worth it.. )

possibly even cheaper.
