I have a really nice Neuron steel Carrera frameset with only one bottle cage holder, being on the down tube. Can I get a frameshop to rivet a second cage holder on the seat tube.

Should be straight forward using RivNuts or equivalent on a steel frame. Standard technique by frame builders. I couldn't google up a clear reference to the frame but if standard DF geometry it is a piece of cake. Slope top tube frames sometimes have seat tube/seat post interferences that limit how long a seat post can be used, or sometimes how big the bottle is for smaller frames.

Or, as a cheaper, "less-invasive" alternative, you might get one of those attach-to-the-seatpost dual bottle holders that triathletes often use.

Hi,
You might find useful information here (http://www.nordicgroup.us/cageboss.htm). I have purchased and successfully used item 11, the Twofish Unlimited 'The Quick Cage' (http://www.twofishunlimited.com/pdf/StainlessCages.pdf). It might be preferable to the rivet idea. I am against drilling holes in anything designed to both be light but also support my weight. Probably erring on the side of caution there. Also, the Quick Cage would be more easily transferred to other bikes or replacement seat posts. Good luck.
