I ride a fix gear on an old Cuevas road frame. If it matters, it is also a very large frame at 62cm. I suspect that it couldn't handle the torque...

Yesterday, my seat tube snapped clean right at my bottom bracket. Almost looks like it was cut off with a precision tool. Needless to say, I'm not very happy about it.

My questions:

1) Is it worth fixing
2) How much should I spend to fix it
3) A good place in NYC that won't rip me off for the repair

Thanks!

Probably not much difference in cost if you just bought a pake or something.

what is a pake?

pake is a cheapish "track" frame made by soma. 4130 cro-mo, track ends, around $275 for frame and fork. you could just swap your old componenets onto it.
