Touring - Help Finding a Bike Touring Company

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I want to take one of those cushy tours this summer where a van carries all the gear and clothes and you get to ride an unencumbered bike. Plus you usually sleep in a hotel. I'm thinking about vermont. Does anyone know an organization that does this well?

I think you'd get better responses if you asked about a specific tour company. A few regulars have been on supported tours, so if you bring up a specific company or tour location, you might get lucky....
Otherwise, just google "bike tours" and you'll see a couple dozen. I can't offer you anything more specific than that -- haven't been on a tour through Vermont myself.
Good luck.

Try Vermont Bicycle Tours (VBT). You can get as much plush as you want to pay for. VBT was recruiting for tour leaders here in California Wine country (Sonoma/Napa) recently. Prices can run up to $200-$500 a day for the very best lodgings and meals. Sharing rooms and low-end lodgings can save a bundle. Warning, some tour companies want you to use their bikes to make their live easier. Does save a little for you.

Take a look at:

Good Luck......supported tours are GREAT fun.
I'm going to tour with: www.atlanticcanadacycling.com for the 4th consecutive year. HIs tours are personal and low key. Read the extensive website. Ask me any questions if you are considering these provinces.
I found http://www.biketour-reviews.com/ very helpful.

We're thinking about a first tour. Backroads seems to have a wide variety of tours and I've found some positive reviews of them.

Backroads does a pretty good job, but they are more somewhat expensive than the other companies mentioned here (VBT, etc.).
