so my bro bought this mongoose iboc for $20. cromoly frame with rigid fork is unscathed. basically looks untouched, but needs a lot of work due to years of sitting around.

can anyone tell me anything about it? worth fixing up as a commuter?

This was my wife's bike, an early 90's version that I recently sold for 120 bucks (with knobbies, fenders, other extras) but you get the idea:

Clean-up, tune-up, riser bars, slick tires, fenders, and you're good to go.
As long as you don't have to replace anything. (Actually, the brakes sucked.)

They were decent frames. Can't beat an old steel hardtail ;)

is the bb smaller than newer bikes
