So today I`m riding thourough the woods on my favorite trail. very weary and tired, when suddenly there is a piece of fishing line right in front of me I jammed on the brakes and just barely missed it. There where several other pieces of fishing line tied to trees across the trail. I cut them all with my knife. I guess someone thought this was "funny" what an *******! Lesson learned except the unexcepted...

Did you search around a little? Usually, when kids pull these kinds of pranks, they lay in wait and watch for their victims. How do I know? I used to pull that kind of stupid stuff when I was a kid.

Was the trail on public land or private land?
If it was on public land or on private land that wasn't posted "no trespassing" report what happened to the police. The next person who comes along might not see them in time and end up dead.
If it was on posted private land, it might have been the land owner who strung the wires to keep people off the trail. I'd still recommend reporting it, but you might have to explain why you were there.

I vote for reporting it to the police, next time someone might not be so lucky there.

Some 30 pound test could do a fair bit of damage. Booby traps are not legal on private land, but there can be some steep fines.

Yeah I think I might actually file a police report.

This sounds like that improbable, gory scene from the movie, "Ghost Ship." I am glad you were uninjured.

Fortunately, the nearest thing I have experienced was destroying a rear mudguard when some kids ran a kite string across a street.
