Posted a technical problem on the Mechanics Forum. In 30 minutes I had maybe 10 views and one responce. A Lance Armstrong Yellow bracelet thread is posted and in 2 minutes had 20 views and multiple posts. Just an interesting observation nothing really more.

That's because it was a technical question. Not everyone is qualified to answer. If you have an opinion post anybody with fingers can reply.

The first response was in ten minutes and was most likely, based on the info given, the correct answer. Most of the mechanic guys do not weigh in just reiterate the same answer.

Stacey once pointed out that typically, threads get about one reply for every ten views. The OP's observations aren't that strange in that regard.

As for how quickly those views/posts come, well, some subforums are much more active than others. And certain topics are sure-fire ways to get lots of views.
