Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What feelings or impulses do you find that are hard to control?
I am having a very hard time not being grumpy if I don't ride. I get mean.
And ice cream. I have to have my ice cream.
I find it difficult to not breathe

Feelings and impulses, not natural bodily functions!....*shakes head* you guys just crack me up sometimes.....

I'm kinda the same way, but instead of getting grumpy if I don't ride, I just get really distracted. I can't concentrate on school work unless I get some physical excersice every day. There are other impulses I can't control, but none I want you people to know about :p

Sleep. I can't hardly control the impulse to sleep.
Siu what if the ice cream melts before you eat it?
Thanks, I work like hell to do it!
Seriously, I tend to care too much for the happiness of the people around me. It's often difficult to not give a crap.

Alright, here's one. Whenever I'm in a crowd of people, I prefer to stand, rather than sit. Kind of like wanting a bird's eye view of the situation. I'm the first to give up my seat in a crowded room, bus, or train.

Maybe the title of this thread should be "How many of you have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?"
that my MOTHER ****ING MATH TEACHER SUCKS AT TEACHING!
Argh, I have a test tommorow, and no one knows how to do the ****. And I tried to study but I forgot how to do some stuff!

Im on spring break:D
Wrong thread, EJ. You want "Whatcha doin'?".
I'm workin on the grumpy when i don't ride thing. My goal for the year is to not sweat it when i can't ride. I have ridden nearly every day for nearly 3 years. I am addicted to it, i must admit and i feel a lot different when i don't ride.
I usually ride for close to 2 hrs each morning before work, and without it I do get irritable. But I know that this is wrong. So now when I don't get to ride because of weather or conflict, I just take it in stride, or at least i try.
Stressing over not riding, really negates some of the benefits of riding when i can. BTW, I think "no control" is BS most of the time. We usually have control if we try hard enough, it is just that often we don't want to try that hard. Sometimes I would rather throw a baby fit, because it is easier.

I can't control worrying about work while I'm in jury duty until the end of the month. I'm trying, I tell ya, I'm trying. And that's no BS. I really don't like having to put stress on my team. I know that it is a hardship on them if I leave them short handed. I worry because I care about work and I care about the employees. I know that there's nothing I can do about jury duty. That's why I say I have no control over worrying. It happens. :(

Nope right thread.:D
Oh. Spring break. Got it. My bad. I just didn't think about "Spring Break" because to me you're such an angel.
I know I shouldn't discuss various people in such a manner that they end up with nicknames and acronyms for their nicknames. But I just can't help it. TSG, TSGS, PRG, PRF, EPG, PGS, the acronyms just keep coming.
Boy have I been busy thinking about girls recently. I guess I can't help that, either. Bad jschen...

There's plenty you can do about it, the trick is in knowing how to get yourself excused/dismissed as a juror.
Nothing personal, but would you want your fate decided by 12 people too naive to get out of serving jury duty? I understand there are some people who relish in serving, but were that the case you wouldn't feel stressed, it was a concious decission to allow yourself to get chosen.
Who's EPG?

SBW, if you want to get out of Jury duty, simply go into the court room throwing racial slurs around. It works like a charm.
Despite still only having 220 HP in my crown victoria, the thing I have a hard time not doing is taking on young punks with rice burners.

Hmmm bodily functions and unmentionable things are out of the book. So what is there.
I used to get real pissy when people tried to help me, especially if I didn't need the help. Haven't been in a job that requies thgat type of scenario so i dont know if its a problem.
Worrying about the little things, overanalyzing and stressing out . I do those alot

Oh, and worrying about money. I have a spreadsheet I use to project worst case predicted balance, best case predicted balance, current balance, predicted monthly net income, predicted monthly net loss, and the sum of the two up until December of this year. I also have a spreadsheet for each of my credit cards. I look at these at least 4 times every day. I hate money.

No control over checking out other people's bikes...bad part is I feel like I'm being rude or something. I guess it's better than walking up and licking a deraileur :p
And I have an absolute inability to stop pimping my bike. Latest bike toy: Thomson Elite setback seatpost.....toy from two weeks ago: Specialized Alias 143 Saddle....and soon add a Thomson Elite stem, and an undefined but equally pimp handlebar.

Stacey, it's not that I'm too naive to get out of jury duty.... I have been told how easy it is to be excused. But to be honest with you, the only way to get out was to lie and I couldn't do that. They told us also that if you were to be excused, you would have to be called again within 6 months. Either way I would serve. I'm not stressed about the jury duty, just what is going on - or NOT going on at my work while I'm gone. My employees are on mandatory overtime now and they are hating it. They even had to call in two people to help out who have never been at my location (each location has different needs). I have to do what's right, but I still am concerned about what he11 my employees are going through.

It's funny you started this SBW. I was thinking about starting an "Are you Monkish?" thread today.
Unmentionable or not, I get irritable if I don't get laid for a while.
Plus, I have to clean my ears after every shower/bath. At least once/day. If I don't, I feel unclean until I do...even if the rest of me is clean.

Yeah, I guess it's kinda rude to pay more attention to a bike than the rider, huh? Of course, once I get my fill of the eye candy, I can usually look the owner in the eye(unless we're at the LBS).

Congrats SBW on being chosen to serve. Serving jury duty requires responsible adults to decide the fate of another human being based on the facts and the law. Good luck and I hope you make the right decision.
