I figured out my route, and it is going to be so much fun!!!! i have an extra day now, so it will be a 5 day trip. I am leaving from jacksonville beach, florida, and going to keaton beach on the gulf side of florida and back. it is about 200 miles or so each way. I figure i will just hang out in keaton the entire third day... maybe find somewhere to rent some fishing poles before I head back. (i am an avid fisherman but have NEVER fished in the Gulf of Mexico. )

It's not exactly "ocean to ocean", but it's farther than I've gone! Have fun. I hope to tour in the future.

Enjoy the ride. I would like to kayak Ocean to Ocean thru that canal that goes thru the Everglades.

Go to Cape Prince of Wales near Nome, Alaska and the Alaskan Land Bridge Preserve and ride from the Pacific Ocean to the Arctic Ocean in a matter of seconds if you don't get stuck in the beach sand.

Some super rider in a recumbent might make it from San Diego to the Gulf of Mexico in 5 days but would not have as much fun as you will.

So, what does your route look like? When are you going to do this ride?

where is the site you all use to show your routes? I know about mapquest, but how do you get it to show a specific route?

I had to look this one up :) I guess you are right... Since the Gulf of Mexico is still the altantic ocean, I guess I am not going "ocean to ocean" maybe "body of salt water to body of salt water?" :)

Whatever! all I know is it is going to be a fantastic trip, and I would quit my job today to go, and my job sucks, but I can't quit, but my job does suck, but i leave in 3 days anyway so i can't quit, but my job does suck.

I might be doing Ocean to Ocean, depends if I feel like it or not. Distance of 15-30,000Km? I dunno...

Atlantic to Pacific, perhaps with some Indian Ocean thrown in for fun. Starting from Paris I'd "touch" ocean in Santiago Spain, or perhaps somewhere along northern Spain. Might end up somewhere in South East Asia. :)

Cheers!

By the OP's standards, walking from one side of a pier to the other would nqualify as ocean to ocean. ;)
