I am getting closer to choosing a 'bent!

I THINK what I want is a SWB bent with a "chair" type seat (like a Rans seat) I also like the idea and comments about having a larger wheel in the back of the bike (plus I just like the look of it) I am not feeling fussy about over or under steering at this point. I figure I can get used to whatever. I am REALLY hoping to keep my initial investment under 750 dollars. ( I also have to buy a child trailer and helmets and all that jazz, so my savings will go FAST!) I am NOT confident in my mechanic abilities, so I am avoiding the actionbent bikes.

I am considering (all used-- and pretty much in my price range)

Rans V-rex
Burley Django
Haluzak Horizon
Lightning thunderbolt
Burley Limbo

I saw a Bachetta giro I really like the sound of for 900... but alas, just too much dough.

A Sun EZ speedster is also within my reach, but I am not impressed with the reviews I have read.

Anyone have any comments or other suggestions for me?

I am 5'6" and about 220 lbs

Of the choices - all good bents - I would recommend the V-Rex. Why? Because you mention a trailer. Pulling a trailer can be a challenge if the rear isn't stiff enough - it will try to steer you instead of the other way around! I know the V-Rex is stiff enough, I suspect the Thunderbolt is also. The others - maybe, maybe not.

Blazing Pedals--

If you could get a new (test driven) thunderbolt for the same price as a 3 yo pretty much stock VRex...

which would you buy? And why?

Go test ride. I too thought a swb bent was best for me. Then I rode one and hated it. I went lwb. You experience may be different though. Best thing to do is test drive even if you have to drive a few hours to find a bent dealer.
