Got locked up for a few hours for being an accessory to a crime and
loitering.
my buddy yelled "Oink Oink" to an "officer" (and I use the term loosely)
and we all got hauled in to jail (local). Of course the owner of the lunch counter
where we just finished eating killed the loitering charges (well I didn't have $5.00
left, hell I was in High School) and how the hell can one be an accessory to
someone yelling "oink oink"? The judge laughed, threw the case out and
severely chastised the officer in question. Poetic justice.
But then this was 1970 and the police were sure that we long hair types
were the living image of satan and drug addicts to boot.

Where is the "I like pie" option?

... No, I haven't been. The closest I've come to a jail was when I was on a ride-along and the officer arrested this guy for molesting his girlfriend and put him in jail for a couple of days and I was with him thorugh the whole thing.

Not yet. Let's hope it stays that way and I'm never caught speeding at over 100 MPH, which is a misdemeanor in many states.

Never in bars, but as a kid, I was in the "interrogation" room of the county lockup until my mom arrived a few times....

1st time: I thought it was funny to taunt the bats in the local movie theatre using a thick rubber band and BBs....when the bats started getting pissed and swooping down, someone called the police on me for disturbing the peace. Seriously, that theater had bats...and they would fly above the screen during the movies.

2nd time: I got busted playing "battleship" against one of my friends on the lake...we had attatched bottles to the sides of our rowboats and were launching bottle rockets at each other.....oh and we were drunk and underage (doh!) By the way, I won by default for making him drop his lighter into the water.

3rd time: "Officer I ain't jokin...it was a cigarette I was smokin...." ...he didn't believe me :( ...that one got me in some real deep with my mom...almost didn't get to see any of the summer on that one.

4th time: I thought it was funny to borrow my friend's white crown vic (ex cop cruiser) and park it on the roadside, and hang out the door pointing a hairdryer at oncoming traffic. The cops didn't find it all that humerous. My friends who were hidden across the road found me getting brought in for it hysterical though...freaking pricks.

5th time: more public annoyance. There was one bathroom in the town park, and there was a event going on there...well I went and put two whole boxes of stink bombs inside the men's restroom...it was bad enough to make an onion cry.

Amazingly I got varying degrees of community service from each of them...I guess they figured out that in a town of 2500 people, it's hard not to get bored enough to do some of the crap I did.

From 7th grade to 9th grade I played a computer game called Everquest. I had anger problems from it and one night I was having a terrible time. So I ended up yelling at my mother after she grounded me off the computer. I said some bad things I shouldn't of said and got 2 weeks in the Juvi. Lol. Mean computer geek.

I can poke fun...I had to deal with that crap as a guildleader....you don't even know drama until you have to hear two 12 year olds bicker about looting rights on an epic piece, years after their eipcs lost any true value in having....

I was in the D.C. jail for a couple of hours, so I voted for "County Jail". This was back in '68. I was arrested at a demonstration protesting the Three Sisters Islands Bridge across the Potomac River. (The bridge was never built.)

I got one on the 580 doing 115+ on my MC . I got a 30 day susp,3 days in jail, traffic school & i a $750 fine(they have the option to take your vehicle on the spot) I would think if one has gold pockets one wouldn't even get that.

"Other-Explain":

No. I wasn't comitting a crime, just acting crazy. So the cops took me to a psych ward where I spent a reasonably comfortable night after a nurse gave me some stuff to drink that put me to sleep. In the morning I had a cuppa coffee and met some interesting people before going on my way.

I think some of those were covered in the "have you been naughty" thread.

No.

I remember a few years ago dating this woman. I was in her town ( a bit south of Tampabay ) and she was driving me around showing me the sites. She points to an area and says "the jail is over that way.....have you ever been in jail?".

"No" I said....and she replies (thoughtfully), "I don't think I've ever dated somebody who's never been in jail before." That SHOULD have been a clue....but I still had to play it out and learn the hard way.

That being said....I "should" have gone to juvie when I was a kid. I got in trouble and did community service. I had this sheet that all my teachers had to sign every week and I would go to juvie if I got any bad marks. Well, one teacher, this one week was having a rough time of it, or maybe it was "that time of the month" or something...but she unfairly gave me bad marks. I "should" have gone to juvie....but instead I re-did the sheet and forged her marks on it. It worked.

Unless you count the value of the little pocket knife they confiscated that I never saw again. I didn't have the presence of mind to claim it in the morning and it wasn't worth the trouble of returning for it.

Like catatonic, I too have been in for questioning... for kicking the snot out of some idiot who desperatly desreved it (when I was 17). I arranged to make restitution to the assclown and they let me skate. Even the cop who interviewed me agreed the smacker deserved an ass-whoopin'.

I and roughly 500 other cyclists have been arrested for the crime of bicycling in New York City in the last 18 months. No real jail time, though - cyclists are held in cells at police stations / central holding for anywhere between a few hours and a few days during "arrest processing". See also Freewheels Bicycle Defense Fund (http://www.bicycledefensefund.org).

I win, I win! - Maybe...

I like Jchen's statement about the whole - mistomenor for 100+ ... I have recieved one ticket in my life... in my friends porsche lets say I was being stupid and doing well over 100... maybe 30 or 40+ ... well the CHP clocked us at 142 MPH on the vegas stretch... (I was 17), but since I had no record I got off easy, 30 days suspended, 500 dollar fine, etc.

Now jail... that is a story. When I was 18 (6 years ago) I spent 28 days in county jail for street racing... and that was the last day I have ever been to one of those stupid and reckless events (I am now an antistreet racing activist, too many people have died around my house)!

For years while I was wrestling with my identity trying to be "male" I got caught up in the street racing scene, before Fast and Furious, etc. Here in Riverside, Ontario, Rancho, etc it was huge, mainly due to the open roads and lack of police. Everyone knew I had the muscle but I rarely raced... it was just a scene, and over the years I saw many people get hurt, including a guy nearly killed when he was clipped by a speeding car.

One night a friend of mine (one of my close ones, Justin) was racing in his red honda civic against this silver car (I think it was an acura but I could be wrong). The stakes were high (1k if I remember) and it was a longer about 1 mile course including 3 turns. Well my friend took the 2nd corner too fast (estimated approaching the corner at 100 MPH) and I believe he lost his brakes and hit a tree. I was there when he died, holding his hand as everyone else ran. The police came and took a report, crime scene, all that but my connection was not know. A week later I was at work and they came in an arrested me, the charge, reckless vehicular manslaughter while racing... the law states the other car is as guilty as the car that crashed (they thought I was driving).

I was interogated, thrown in a cell for a few days (private for various reasons), then it was found that they could not prove I was driving (because I was not), but in order to avoid going to trial on the manslaughter charges I pled guilty to street racing (a misdomendor, 30 days in county, 100 hours community service). Four years later the record was expunged.

It is funny how the guy who cares gets busted... all the other jerks, including the guy who was driving ran... oh well, it must be the caring that I have inside me.

Today I have no mercy for street racers... and are personally responsible for over 20 arrests in the area...

Mandy

You ever have refrigerator pie? Just take some leftovers(veggies, meat, whatever), throw 'em in a pie crust with a couple beaten eggs/heavy cream mixture, bake ~45 minutes and viola! Good stuff, man, I got three in my fridge right now.

Good for you Mandy!

Yeah I think most of us in our teen years got into some degree of street racing...not right at all though....

I should have gotten arrested for one of those once before...

This was the storyt of my fast 2.3l mustang...was heavily modified, bored and stroked, and could put out 260hp at the wheels @ 8400RPM. No turbos, just junkyard tech at it's finest...namely I was lucky to find a "2.7" stroker head, and played with it enough to get just over 2.8l from it...spent weeks balancing it, since 2.8 is ludicrously huge for a 4-cylinder, had to buy a hood with a larger cowl to clear the head cover.

....well I was blasting down I-69N at god knows what speed (broad daylignht, perfect visibility, and barely a car on the road...road was straight as an arrow too)...my speedometer stops at 85mph, and that was over 4,000RPM and one gear ago...still pulling hard....I see a cop car and realize no point in slowinig down, so I just blast by, giving him a salute. He pulls into the freeway, turns on his light for a second, and then pulls back to the side of the road.

I immediately get off at the next stop, and hide out at my friend's place for the rest of the weekend.

A month later, I was back in that town up there at a Wendy's (I got employee discounts), and this cop approaches me and asks what kind of heat I had under that hood...when I mention a 4-cylinder, he blows his top. "What the f*** do you mean you have a god****ed 4 cylinder, are you f***king with me you piece of ***? I actually thought you could beat me you f**king ***suckering piece of ***!....."

...well, he got kicked out of the wendy's...once the manager there heard my story (he used to be my old manager, has a pretty nice trans am, but I could take him easily with my car)...he couldn't help but laugh hysterically. Turns out he was unable to prove that I was the one since he couldn't even get the plate...turns out I was clocking 150mph, and their camera wasn't capable of getting a clear shot at the angle it got the picture at that speed...plus my face looked like a unrecognizable blur.

I was very lucky....that could have been some jail time right there.

On the flipside, I guess he's never dealt with a true sports engine before...that engine was my answer to insurance ****....$480/mo for full coverage ona stock 2.3l mustang....over 700/mo for a 5.0....screw that, I just made the 2.3 faster than a stock 5.0....

Add a 4" cowl hood, and raise the ventilation behind the hood to the cowl level, and put 10-hole alloys...and this 5.0 LX looked very similar to my old 2.3 http://www.jmcmustang.com/memcars/roger92.htm

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, OK, I'm not so squeaky clean. I was a street racer and no, I never got caught, but yes, I came close several times. I had two fast cars, a 64 Buick Skylark, 325 HP, 355 v8 and a 69 Corvette LT-1 conversion. We used to race on Route 20 in Patterson NJ and Route 46 in Clifton. I don't think anything we did would have landed us in jail, the morgue yes, but not jail.
