Joe - have you ever considered purging your membership lists?

I.e., folks with 0 posts who have been members 1 yr or more?

You have a lot of dead weight in the member database. Does that slow things up much?

Not much Denver, every-time i send out a community bulletin i get a few "I totally forgot about the forums, thanks for the email!" emails. I know a few of the active members here didn't post for well over a year after registration.
