Track Cycling - Where can I find track wheels for cheap?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking to build a track bike for commuting and daily use (No racing). I am looking for solid affordable track wheels with a flip flop hub on the rear wheel.

Does anyone know a good site where I coud find something like this, or good brands? Thanks

Depends on How cheap "cheap" is. Velocity sell some pre-made track wheels with a double sided rear hub at a reasonable price.

Search the fixed gear/single speed forum if you're not interested in track racing equipment.

The consensus is that IRO wheels are pretty decent (formula hubs laced to Velocity rims) - http://www.irocycle.com, for every day use. Start at about 150 USD.

Lots of people offer Forumla hubs laced to decent rims at ok prices so I'd look around. Nashbar, Bens Bikes etc also offer cheap wheelsets.

I'd personally stay away from any wheels that had Suzue Basics/Jr or Quando hubs.
