What is your favorite board game or card game?
I think my favorite would have to be Risk. I haven't played in a while, but I think having epic battles for world domination is the greatest thing ever! Monopoly is also pretty good, but it can get boring after a while.
Eucher is my favorite card game
Trivia Pursuit and SongBurst are my favorite boardgames.
I've always hated Risk, but to be fair I've never really been taught the game.
First got the game in 1970 or earlier, I was 8 or younger and my brother Russell taught it to me(I'm thinking he made up the rules) and of course he ended up ruling the world.
Same goes for Monopoly :p

Cranium!!!!
It is either CLUE or SORRY.
Has anyone ever played Pass the Pigs? I used to play it all the time at school during my study halls. That game is so fun and unique!

That's Chutes and Ladders!
(Not chutes or ladders . . . . that wouldn't be appropriate!) :)

Cards, I like to build card houses. Does that count?
Also, the game Spades is excellent. I used to do that a great deal on MSN zone.
Monopoly for a board game for sure, though it is a fairly long game.
Did anyone see the "I Love Toys" show on VH1 recently? They said some pretty funny stuff about all these games.

Was it not called snakes and laddars first and then the name changed because it scared kids? Because I had snakes, never chutes.

I always had snakes and ladders too, not chutes. Thought it might have been an aussie thing, seeing that we have so many dang snakes around. Some kids scare too easily ;).

Snakes and Ladders does sound more interesting.

Specific editions
The most widely known edition of Snakes and Ladders in the US is Chutes and Ladders, produced by Milton Bradley (which was purchased by the game's current distributor Hasbro). It is played on a 10×10 board, and players advance their pieces according to a spinner rather than a die. The theme of the board design is playground equipment—children climb ladders to go down chutes (slides).

I only ever had "Chutes and Ladders" when I was a kid (WAY back in the last century). Maybe it's a regional thing?
I think my two favorite games are "Sets" and "Who, What , Where" Sets is a card game (special cards) where you attemp to find sets of color, pattern, or fill in 12 cards laid out. WWW is a drawing game where you are given 3 cards (who what where) and you draw the items so other can guess it correctly.

Sorry, you must word associate elsewhere. Those types of games are verboten here. (I don't think you can even mention them here!)

My favorite is Balderdash. I like Clue also.
My least favorite is "Monotony" - in any of it's various forms. Risk is ok - but the box rules are horrible. Allowing the same piece to engage in battle after battle across continents within the same turn is just wrong. "Axis and Allies" is a much better conceived game with the same general theme.

My favorite board game would have to be Talisman. Now that was a long game. Lots of fun, tho. I need to find a copy of that. Ebay, here I come! I own at Trivial Pursuit! Well, I used to. I probably wouldn't do too well with newer or very specific editions. Scrabble's fun, too.
Cards, I don't know. I like solitaire. Spades is okay...played that a lot in the Army(usually in conjunction with hurry-up-and-wait). I like gin rummy and rummy, too. Man, I haven't played cards in a long time.
