Road Cycling - Trip recommendations...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all. Toying with the idea of a Christmas riding vaction and trying to figure out an east coast (USA) destination. Looking for recommendations for a destination that would allow for a central home base with some excellent road loops and maybe some MTB loops. Had thought of doing western North Carolina (Asheville, Pisgah, Blue Ridge, etc) but figured it would be a bit cold there as well. All recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Zach
Atlanta has some great bike riding.
There are plenty of Atlanta area BF members to join you on a ride or two if you'd like. :D
Lots of hills, trails, and bike paths too.
The Silver Comet Trail (http://www.pathfoundation.org/trails/sc.cfm) is a great place to ride.
Stone Mountain Park (http://www.stonemountainpark.com/newsite/park_maps_driving.asp)

And if you must, the north Georgia mountains aren't very far.
