Foo - Who have you actually met from BF?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I speak to Hi565 on AIM on a regualr basis (cool guy!!), and I met Dante Sarveroni when I gave him an old frame I had laying around....another really cool guy (he liked my bike and didn't even make fun of my triple :D ).
Cheers,

I'd rather not make any contact with BF'ers, they might be stalkers.

I've ridden (go figure! it's BIKEforums...!) with a few folks. CPcyclist, CPclydesdale, craign04, and recursive in the hills west of Madison. Hipcycler in the Kettle Morraine. And a couple of times with psimet2001 closer to home in Elgin.
They's all good people. :)
... Well... Hip's good people, but that whole Knave thing... all we did was flinch at phantoms the whole time! :p ;)

It is so wierd, I live in Japan but while on holidays in Australia in December I met Tomity. I was at a criterium there and a friend asked me if I saw the Japanese pro rider making presentations to the winners. I said no and sat there wondering who he would be talking about. A few minutes passed and I asked my friend if the guy was a keirin rider and he said yes. I went in search and low and behold it was him.
Very very nice and special person. Loved by many professional and amateur riders world-wide. I consider myself very lucky. :D
Big Ups for Tomity.
Steve.

I've known Rageofthedragon for almost 8 years, and rother_man is my brother. Ive also met KrisA. Im sure ive met other BF people in the city here without actually knowing who they were.
Let's see... I've met dog hair, Extort, 1955, Nosra451, OC Roadie, Pico, worker4youth, The Fixer, and my58vw. All because of the Apple Pie century organized here on BikeForums. I've been in PM contact with several other members.

I've met Koffee, DC Emily, Nick Carraway and Higherground. I was gonna meet Superdex, but he met a bridesmaid and that was that. I'm married to Bibi (does that count as meeting), who's ridden with a whole crew of BF'ers including Kirke and Mirona.
And where is Kirke anyway?
Way way too many to count. I'm guessing I've met and ridden with at least 100 people on here, if not more...
well maybe not, but I just am getting tired of reading pointless posts, especially after reading about all of this post count nonsense.
If tired of pointless posts, perhaps foo isn't the best forum for you...
I've met and/or ridden with several dozen folks from BF. Though generally considered the red-headed stepchild of BikeForums, the SS/FG board generally has much more 'community' than the others, and rides/meets are frequent.

That's why I am rarely in here ;)
But even this thread has something to do with bikes and riding, which is why I joined BF.

I've ridden with Baetis and Magyar. KirkeIsWaiting and I are good firends. She has had a hectic life the past few months, but she's doing well. I expect we'll see her back here before too long.

Cool.
I've met Zapcatt offline, very cool guy. Sadly I moved away from the San Jose area, so I don't have any chances soon of going back there and trying to outride him for a change :p
The rest of the acquantances have been online only so far.
I've sent PMs back and forth with Kirkeiswaiting, I sometimes chat with Lauren on Yahoo Messenger, PMs and emails with Siu, and the occaisional bugging KT in PM.

I know...I know. I'll get around to trying SP Cycling club again one day. I just got major intimidated from the one time I did try.
Maybe if we just planned a trip to meet and ride I'd feel more comfortable.

Sure can do.
Send me a PM sometime, or if you do want to do the bikeclub thing, PM me and we can do the Gib's ride, which is a more relaxed ride. They leave there every saturday as well, it's just not announced like the rest of the rides.
I met Raiyn as well.
He helped me with some mechanical work and got me started wrenching.
Our paths haven't crossed recently, however.

Aren't there any other Kiwis on the board? (Kiwi is the proper term, correct? Never know what's proper these days.... ) How easy or difficult is it to get from one major city to another, or between the North to South Islands?
I would love to visit NZ. Looks like a completely beautiful place.

You say that....but the time I went I left with the slowest group and they were barreling at probably 18-20mph. I suspect maybe there aren't enough "gibs" to always have a showing. Maybe no "gibs" showed up that morning.
I'll PM you sometime, though, when its a good weekend for me.

Yeah, NZcyclist and bjarni - I talk to and meet often - they actually introduced me to this site :D:D. Kiwi, yep that’s us :D. I live in the north island, never actually been to the south island :p but I believe there are bouts going back and forth between the two islands :D dunno about the third one. Of course there’s trains running from the top of NZ down to the bottom... so its reasonable to move around NZ :P
NZ is a cool place, I don’t ever want to move :D :D as cheesy as that sounds :D

I talked to Kimberly just this sunday about it, and she said there's one every saturday, just they don't call it out on the megaphone, like they do the other rides. She is usually the "sweep" for the Gib's ride, that is a person who keeps an eye on those in the back...if anyone is having trouble, whatever it is, you won't be "dropped". I've had to have a sweep before, when my back tire went flat, and the group was way past me...I'm still trying to learn the routes.
Either way, if you don't want to do that, we can just go putz around somewhere. thr ride from my place to Wheedon island isn't very long, but it's fairly low traffic. There is a pretty long climb there though.
To the best of my knowledge:
UncaStuart, terrymorse, UmneyDurak, Spingineer, Sailguy, Bigfloppyllama, Sherpa, 'nother, mnutini, vinokurtov, sorebutt, zakk, and stinger9oh.
Someone I forgot about is scarry who I saw on the Grizzly Century a few years ago. We just exchanged a few words as we passed.
