Foo - good idea to go to ebay?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
a while back i posted about bass. i started lessons and used my freind bass. but now i need to get my own. they have that x-mart fender brand at the shop by me and then some other ones for around 250. in between the two look like crap. so i am thinking if i can spend like 200 or so on a nice ibanez on ebay i would be better off. good idea to get it on ebay? my freind bought a 400 epiphone on ebay and had no problems.
is there anything big that i should be looking for, that would turn me away from a guiter also.

Guitars (and basses) are like bikes--you don't buy 'em unless you can try 'em. Now, if you've tried that particular Ibanez, and it feels right, then you would probably be okay, so long as the ebay seller is a reliable one. How much is shipping? Do they offer insurance for a reasonable price? Any kind of return policy, if you aren't satisfied?
Living in NJ, you have to have droves of music stores around you. Visit them, look at what they have in used basses that you like. Spend as much as you can afford, your dollar buys so much more when you're buying used equipment.
thinking it over i think i am going to go to a shop. it is my first bass so i would also like to speak with someone there and mybe they can give me more info. and my teacher said to tell me that i am with him and he will give me a discount. most likely my next one will be off ebay though.
