Foo - Do you channel surf?

I never watch anything for more than a few minutes.

Oh yeah, I channel surf. My friends say I have "Finger Diarrhea".

I choose something and stay there because I usually turn on the television to watch something in particular.

same here. the tv only comes on for a reason.

It all depends. I channel surf if I'm not happy with what I'm watching. If I'm not multitasking, I tend to channel surf during commercials, too. But not if I'm multitasking. (Typically, the other task being eating or surfing the web.)

I used to. NOw i just Tivo, so i never have to look for things to watch, as i normally have a whole plethora of shows on the tivo to watch.

I watch TV when bored, and the problem is, TV has nothing good on, unless it's Battlestar Galactica, South Park, Dr. Who, or some movie about greek mythological figures.

edit: add "Ted or Alive" to that list....his show is so out there that I actually like it for some reason.

Get a Tivo. I go online and search for stuff i like while i am at work. Then i set them all to record and bam, they are all there for me to watch. It really eliminates the whole "there's nothing good on tv" argument. There really is a lot of good on tv, it's just hard to find without a tivo or something similar.

I love documentaries, and i go online and search for new ones every week. Just about every day I find a new one to watch. Very cool. I wasted a lot of $ on cable before i got tivo because there was never anything to watch. Now atleast i get some good out of the cable, i get to watch what i want, when i want.

Same here.

I like watching movies, but mostly only watch TV when I'm bored, or in a hotel room during the week with nothing else exciting to do. Usually, I'm doing something else, like surfing the web, responding to emails, or other equally exciting stuff. So yeah, if I'm not multitasking with some other thing, I multi-task by watching 5 programs at once. Drives my wife insane. :D

I might flip back and forth between shows during commercials, but for the most part I just watch whatever I've DVR'd. If I'm watching live TV, it's usually Weatherscan, Discovery channel, or Food Network. I'd like to watch more movies(I've got every cable channel one can get), but I can't help but feel they're a waste of time. I have to be settled in for the night/morning to watch a movie. Of course, with a DVR, I can pause 'em now, so that's cool.

I guess if you have digital cable...I just have the cheapo old school cable. And I'd rather not pay more per month on stuff. For me, just a few shows will do me fine. History channel would be cool if they would stop with the religious stuff...I don't care about the grail or the ark of the covenant....let's cover something better already.

Man, I don't even have cable.

NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox are all I got. :(

My TV has a "surf" feature that lets me put in an amount of time in 30 second increments (up to 4:30) and then switch channels to my heart's content. When the time I've input is up, it automatically returns to the channel I was on.

Only time I watch tv is when i'm with other people and they're usually the ones watching tv so I don't surf.

The radio, when I'm driving, that is another story. And its really bad in Houston because there is like no radio station here I can listen to. Way too much spanish and way too much rap. So I'm pretty much 100% surfing. If my commute was any longer I'd have to get XM or something.

I use the on-screen guide to find two shows I feel like watching and then flip back and forth between them.

I have old school cable too. Tivo works on analog cable.
