I started around 4 or5 this morning and it was dark and real cold as I rode through Ocala the temperature was suppose to drop into the 30's and I believe it as I wore my wool tights and wool/synthetic jacket for the first time in ages.By Belleview as I stopped for pancakes dawn broke but as I rode in it was still dark and I noticed a commotion around a crowded parking lot and it was shoppers lining up at Kmart which was also the topic of conversation at breakfast.By the next town I forget the name I was back down to cycling shorts and short sleeve jersey. However here to Leesburg where I stopped to pick up an extra tube the shoulder dissappeared and the traffic was fairly heavy though managable. After Leesburg 27 had good shouldering the rest of the way however the rolling hills started getting a little steeper and when I stopped at a field adjoining a Fl. visiter center near a turnpike entrance/exit to use the bathroom and found a lone wild orange tree with 12 oranges which I loaded onto my bike it made matters much worse.Near Clermont the hills started getting particularly steep and as I finished ascending the final one to look down at Clermont I meet a homeless preacher on a mtn bike who must have had 20 grocery bags attached to his bike making my two look like high fashion.I stopped to chat as I was low on energy and planned a food break anyway. After Clermont the hills continued but the housing developments and related traffic continued as the Orlando suburbs were expanding this way.I rode several hours after dark but not as long as I planned due in large part to the steeper than exspected hills wearing me out and I also think dehydration was a factor as I wasn't drinking as much pure water as I should with the temps down from the summer levels.I camped tentless in between rows of pine trees which I think was a tree farm near a housing developement just south of Interstate 4 though I didn't realize I had crossed it at the time.
