Introductions - Hello from Harrisburg

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi Everyone!
I did my first 13 miles last Saturday after about 10 years of no riding, and man did it feel great! :)
I've been riding ever since I was a kid, but have been out of it for a while due to career, growing family, etc. I hope to get to the point where I can commute to work everyday, since it's about 13 miles round trip. My employer is bike-friendly, so that should work out well. I don't think I could ever be 100% car free, but I want to be car-light. Plus, I like the idea of the workout being the commute, putting that time to good use. Thanks for all of your tips and motivation.

Welcome! It sounds like you're on the right track for getting back in to the sport. Spring's just around the corner, so good luck!

Welcome! I'm about 5-7 miles from you. Look me up here if you want to go for a ride sometime after it gets warmer (presuming it will ever get warmer).

You lucky stiff, only a few miles from HERSHEY, Pennsylvania. I was last in that area 49 years ago and still remember the excitement at seeing the exit sign on the Pennsy Turnpike. How about a picture of your bike next to a giant Hershey Bar.

Welcome to the boards, from the SW side of the state. Keep up the riding, and get ready for one of the Covered Bridge rides. A bunch from the forums here get together for that one. I going to try, and fit it in this year.

Oh come on, how much warmer do you want it :D I went out today and sure the sun wasn't out, and it was only in the 40's and a little mist coming down now and then, but it beat sitting in the house and watching Dr Phil.
I also live close to you, I live in Camp Hill, I too am getting reacquianted with cycling. I myself have been thinking about a recumbent.

There is a guy who rides one near Good Shepard on the Pike. You can see him taking the center lane there early in the a.m. Looks like he has a lot of fun riding it.
