Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've signed up to go with a charter service...they haul your stuff and make life easier for you than the Register's vehicles (and the accompanying mass of humanity).
I'm looking forward to the week!

I'm going and bringing a small group with me. (assuming lottery, etc.) From the Washington, DC area.
I grew up in Iowa and went on the ride twice back in the early 80's. Obviously, I'm a bit older now, so the ride will be different.. slower, etc. We have 6 from the DC area that are headed that way this summer, and I talked my retired, Norwegian bachelor farmer (ala Lake Wobegon) uncle to be a roady. Drive a vehicle for us, get a camping spot, haul our gear, etc. He's on our team as a non-rider.
We are really looking forward to this! and oh.. the group is at least partly an extension of a hash group, hence the name. DC Hash House Harriettes and Harriers (DCH4). I've been told by another hasher that there will be a fatboy hash some evening during the week. :-)

LOL! I grew up in Eagle Grove -- a Norwegian community that was stocked with Wobegonians.
