Folding Bikes - Put Downtubes on eBay, need suggestions for 26" folding bikes?

Hello, I got my downtube VIIIFS bikes in last week, and opened the one just to find out that I cannot deal with 20" wheels, so I threw them up on eBay, and now I am looking for new bikes. Does anyone have any suggestions for lower priced 26" folding bikes? Space isn't really the biggest concern, they just have to be able to fit in a car trunk. It seems a lot easier to find 20's that 26's, atleast in brand names for a good price. I know Dahon had the espresso and matrix for decent prices. Thanks in advance!

Just curious but what were your issues with the 20" wheels? Was it too nervous or ...? My mom is almost 70 and mastered the DT and Dahon in short order. Then again she has a Xootr scooter if that tells you anything.

As for other options you could always go with S&S couplers and convert a bike you already have an like if there is one. Definitely not a lot in the bigger wheel sized bikes as you've already learned. Keep in mind that each 20" bike has its own personality.

Thanks for the replys. I have been looking into the Hummer/Montague. They seem really solid and neat. I have seen that a lot of elderly people have even jumped on the downtube bandwagon. I guess my main problems are that this bike will be my daily rider, and I live in a town in the middle of a cornfield, so there is never a need to take it on a bus/train, just in the trunk of my car.

Eh, yes,..but just because you don't need the extra functionality does that entail you don't want any part of the bike that has it? Hey it's totally your prerogative, but i am also just curious, was it an esthetic thing or...?
