Been restricted to no athletic activity for a week since crash in last weeks Torrance crit, but damn was so nice Sunday morning figured it was close enough. So I planned to roll down the drive way and toddle back and forth on Glen Oaks a few times, just to get some light activity in. Down the drive way and onto Glen Oaks and wow I'm right in the middle of the Sunday Morning Griffith Park Assault on La Tuna Canyon ride. Well actually I was never so glad to see a bunch of people on my ride. So obviously there needs to be some fundamental changes to the plan fot todays ride. Some guys pass me and there is no way I can let them go so I ask to join the line and they say jump on in brother. We are actually taking it pretty easy in the lead up flats and that suits me fine. When we turn off Glen Oaks another club goes by. I have never seen so many bikes on my piece of road before. So we continue on turn on to La tuna and keep going steady but not hard. We get to the dam and I feel pretty good as we come up on stragglers from other group. They are going a little slower than I like to go so I'm out and around them hitting my usual stride for this hill. Feeling really good I continue on pretty much alone the main group quite aways ahead. On the last stretch before the 210 some of our guys overtake me as I'm tiring a little so I'm up and peddlling to keep on their wheel. As usual I spent too muchh too low to finish strong at the crest but feel realy good as I roll up and stop with group waiting for stragglers. I am realy surprised at how strong I was and how good I feel on the bike. Deciding not to over do it I turn around and start back dowwn instead of following guys for rest of ride. See bunch more people climbing as I descend. Hope everyone had as good a sunday as I did. Going to pick up the training routine after work tonight get back on good nutrirtion hope to maybe race mid month.
