i am confused about the 990 designation...could someone explain this? is this all that's found on bmx's? if i see a fork i like with 990 mounts, will any U-brakes i see at danscomp work?

Yes, any u-brake will work. Even though the Dia-Compe 990 is a specific type of u-brake, the term "990s" and "u-brakes" is pretty much interchangable.
how do the cables attach to these? why does the black one look like it has an E-clip on one side and a bolt on the other and the silver one has a bolt on both sides??

also, what is the pupose of this thing? is it only for gyro use?

You don't want Revenge brakes; they're not all that great for the price. And, yes, the London Mod is for dual lower cable setups with a gyro.

...but if it weren't for the price, don't the bearings in the pivot make them kind of nice?? how can others match this without bearings?

i dont know for sure how smooth the bearing are on the revenge brakes, but just some clean, greased up posts will due fine for smooth brakes.
p.s: what is with all the double posts- is it due to the mods. to the site?
