www.allmusic.com is a good place to listen to partial tracks. Each goes about 20-30 seconds.

If you don't care to join allmusic, some samples of Alquin can be heard here:

A newer band that's really impressed me is The Sword. I've been checking out a lot of new music on Myspace lately, too.

you gotta get some moe. (http://www.moe.org)

find the songs "Rebubula," "Mexico," "Timmy Tucker," "Plane Crash" or anything off their live albums. They are characterized as a 'jam-rock' band, but they are heavy on the guitar rock side of that description

I like Chimaira the better of the two, but they're both alright, I guess. Hmm, well, let me put it this way, I don't mind listening to them, but I haven't felt the need to buy any of their albums yet. If I really like a group/album, I'll shell out some dough for it...if I remember.

You ever hear of Mankind Is Obsolete? I dig their sound.:)

[edit] I forgot, you can't go wrong with a little Slayer, in my opinion.;)

Their best songs, which i think they are, include Joker and the Theif, Where Eagles Have Been, Minds Eye and the White Unicorn. The White Unicorn is good at the start, but drags on a bit throughout it. Goes for around 7+mins and is the longest out of those 4.

Alice Cooper. LOTS of Alice Cooper.

Matter of fact, I'm listening to his radio show right now.
