Okay, so I have decided to cross over.
I am looking at the B66 S, but I wonder if it is in fact the B67 S that I want, because it has the "microadjust" seatpost connection.
Am I on the right track here?
My seatpost has a squarish clamp thingie, adjusted with an allen key, that closes down around the two seatrails. This is the "modern version", yes? ;)
<edited to add> And any recommendations re smooth versus textured finish on the leather? I normally wear lycra, so I am thinking smooth leather will be slippy. Is that a good thing?

Hi, Lolly , you've got it right, the 66 is a double rail saddle, and the 67 is a single rail saddle designed for modern seatposts.
pebbled vs plain isnt much of a difference once the saddle gets broken in; as to the springs being innefficient, naw.(tried to PM you but BF software updates are still quirky?)
It just feels more like you're riding on a pillow. I've never thought I was losing efficiency from any of my sprung saddles. My B-17 actually has more of a noticable hammocky feel to it; the sprung brooks Conquest on my LHT actually feels more 'solid', but as if i were balanced on a little pillow.

Also, you may actually find that the 67 will be more comfortable slightly tilted up in front. Both mine are adjusted so only the 'sit' area is level. The peak will keep you there but you shouldn't really feel it. If you do, lower the angle til you find the 'hammock' that Beko is talking about. It happens on the sprung saddles as well as the 17. That's a leather thing. When the peak disappears, you're there.
Once you find the sweet spot, try to retain the slickness. If you're in the hammock, the slickness will not be a problem. You won't lose your position. Rather, it will be an advantage in staying cool and comfortable.
