I opened a Paypal account a couple of days ago. Paypal made two deposits into my bank account. I logged into Paypal and verified my bank account.

I used Paypal to buy something yesterday afternoon. This morning I checked my bank account and the money shows deducted with a Paypal reference number.

However, when I log into Paypal it still shows uncleared. Is this normal? Or is there a problem?

That's normal. Paypal, and just about any such banking system, normally update every so often. It probably hit your banks system too late last night to clear Paypals system until later today.

They're hanging on to your money for a couple days and making interest off it... Just like the banks..

Pay Pal really suck over here for clearing things quickly. It took about 4 business days to clear added funds.
