Folding Bikes - Kickstand for Downtube FS...One Idea?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Yan and others, any idea if this Tranz X kickstand would work on a Downtube FS?
Anyone else solve the problem yet?

Good news: a rear axle mount kickstand is one solution, and should work

Bad news: it gets loose everytime you want to remove the rear wheel.

I don't think this will work on wheels with QR axles.
@hbob that looks like a great idea....I wish they had more specs on the dimension of the frame/swingarm it will accept.
Thanks,
Yan

How about this item? An adapter that fits over dropouts and with quick release?

Hbob.
Here is one solution for a kickstand. 3 pieces of aluminum and a bolt. I still need to paint it but it works.

What is the third piece af aluminum? I see the top and bottom plates.
Do you think the kickstand is long enough? Did you make any extras?

I was hoping that someone would look at the above photos and see if they thought
that would work with the DT FS model. the last photo shows the adapter used with
a QR hub. Adapters have hole for skewer and a set screw hole to go into frame above
dropout. Is the distance between those two holes a standard on bikes?

The last block on the bottom is to add some length. Otherwise the kickstand is not long enough. I already had the kickstand so I did not order another one. If the kickstand were 1/2 to 3/4 longer then it would not be needed. I am going to make 3 or 4 more then I will be out of aluminum. The problem I run into is when I compare the cost to what you can sell them for, it is not a good deal. After all it is just a kickstand adapter and I do not have automated equipment to make them.
Old fashioned machine shop.

That's cool, Kenal0. Do you have pics of the kickstand folded - i.e. does it clear the chainstay?

Here are some longer kickstands available:

I am painting it now. Since I already have the kickstand and the extension block built, I will probably not order another kickstand however it appears the longer ones on that website would work. They are pricey. The one I bought was 7.99 from the LBS.
I will post pics with kickstand up and down when painted.

This is my finished kickstand. On to the next project. Getting a fixed rear wheel for an old mountain bike.

Nice work.
I am going to make 3 more of these holders if anyone wants one. $10 +$2 shipping. You supply your own kickstand. I will paint white if you want. So it will include the aluminum pieces and a stainless steel bolt.
If you can get a longer kickstand you can eliminate using the bottom block of aluminum. After 3, I am out of aluminum and quite frankly my machinist time cost more than I can get from these so I do not want to make any more. I just want to offer some fellow Downtube FS guys a solution. I will also provide anyone who wants with a sketch and dimensions if you want to make your own.
Not the most elegant solution but it works.

I will take one. Send me Paypal or other payment info via private forum message.
Which model kickstand do you have? Which longer one would you recommend?
I need to know which style to purchase.
Thanks,
Hbob
I sent you a pm.
Kenal0
I have not received it. I wonder how long it stays in transit?
