Basically I went to do a drop while on the bike, not big, maybe 5' at the most, but things went wrong feet slipped off the pedals, threw me off balance, landed hard and the bike landed on my right hand. 40 pounds crashing onto a hand will do that.

5' can still hurt. :)..

Best of luck with the recovery but really a break is far better then tendon or ligament damage. :)...

Ack.. I had some pedals like that in Jr High on my Crappy Huffy BMX bike... ever have your feet slip off the pedal freewheel backwards and nail you in the shin ?? I thkn I still have marks.. crazy ass spikes on those things !
