i'll try this again. last time the server seemed to crash. My god, what have i done. i'm over that now.so.
i haven't ridden since early 80's. I worked in a bike shop then and mountain bikes where just coming out. my how things have changed. well, fast forward years later and many packs of cigarettes.
I now have twins and it's about time to get back into some kind of shape. I figure I'll ride around town mostly. We got a trailer for the kids. that should be a workout in itself. Well, if I can avoid the heart attack, everything should be fine. I guess you have to start small and work up. Let the fun begin.

Welcome!

As you already know, the most important thing for your heart is to stop the cigarettes, if you haven't already. Even more important than the bicycling.

Enjoy your bicycling. I bet that soon you will be doing a lot more than going around town!

Good luck.

I actually stopped the smoking about 2 years ago. However, I then managed to pack on 40 -50 pounds.
Thanks for the encouragment. I'm looking forward to all the riding i'll be doing. It's about the only thing I can do after work. (3 am) I play some golf and generaly walk, but people look at you funny when your out practicing with a wedge in the dark.

With lights you can bike at anytime. But, depending on the neighborhood, you may want to carry that wedge with you.
