A lot of their frames resemble those of Orbea. I'm not sure why. Maybe Cinelli's are just copycats! ;)

I am currently riding the Starlight frame with DA stuff on it...as a matter of fact, I purchased my frame from GVH (the pic looks like his website). Complete bike pictures appear on other sites...CBIKE, WCP and a few others.
I LOVE my Cinelli. It sprints well (I'm not a sprinter so the bike may be dissappointed in my abilities) and it climbs. Out of the seat climbing is a wonderful. It is fun to put myself in oxygen debt.
Ride one if you get the chance.

As you youngsters may or may not know Cinelli was, arguably, THE bike during the 1960s and 70s.

They've moved a long way from lugged Columbus steel but it's cool to see one of the old names still plugging along.

Enjoy your ride.

Just a note on the Orbea...some of the Orbea frames are made with the Columbus tubing that is used on the Cinelli Starlight frame, so the similar look observation is justified. That tubing is welded and then heat treated for a uniform temper (if that's the correct term for aluminum).

Hey Phatman,
You suck dude! That is the exact frame I want. Where did you get it and for how much? I live here in WA state and I can only locate 1 dealer that even carries Cinelli. Get this... I talked to the owner over the phone to see if he carried Cinelli... he said he did. I then said that I was looking at buying a new road bike and have been test riding quite a few and I wanted to ride THAT Cinelli because I heard a lot of great things about it.
He said, "This conversation is over with. I do not let anyone test ride my Cinellis".
Great frame man!

TLN,

I'd find a new LBS, even if it meant travelling.

Local LBS has no problem with test rides of Serotta Ottrott,
Seven Odonata, Merlin Cielo, CSI, Trek 5200 (5900)
begin to see a picture? These are a bit more expensive than
the Cinelli, sure ya leave drivers license or something
but they allow you to ride em!
Don't buy if you can't test ride it.

Hey Lotek,
I totally agree with the "no ride no buy" policy. I am just thankful that it wasnt my local LBS. I am very lucky to have an awesome LBS but they dont deal with Cinelli. They said they can get anything I wanted but it would go directly on my credit card. lol.

Anyway, no matter what I get, Cinelli, Klein or other, I will get the frame thru my local LBS and build it up myself since they give me the stuff for cost...plus a little bit extra which helps them make atleast a little money from me.
