Hey guys,

Well Monday I turned 16, and was lucky enough to have the day off due to teacher in service day, so my friend and I decided to head out to Rockville in Fairlfield, CA, about 1.5 hours away. It was the first time I had been there and it was pretty awesome. It is basically a HUGE "park". At the trailhead, you can take a fireroad up to the top of a huge hill, where there is a lake and trails going in every direction, or at the trailhead you can hang a right and let the singletrack begin. It was kind cool cause all over the park there were cows to keep the grass down. So you kind of had to dodge cows occasionally and pick your routes accordingly. We found a pretty fun loop, you had to go through a fence that was made to keep the cows out, so there were no cows on the loop. But the loop was about 2 miles, really fun, fast, tight, singletrack with some awesome down hill sections. Here a some pics:

About 500 ft. from the trail head. The trail runs right though the center.

It was quite nice to finally hit the trail, hopefully on Sunday I will be able to hit a more local trail (Salmon Falls). :)

Thanks guys,
Matt

We have cows on the trails here sometimes.

Out, in the middle of the bush, no civilization for miles upon miles. And there's bloddy cows on the singletrack, WHY HAVENT THE BEARS EATEN THEM YET!?!?!

Ah, the lighter side of Rockville.

It's a fun little park that can accomodate a wide range of riders. It's one of the few places around where I can ride with my buddies one day and ride with my kids the next day.

If you're interested in route suggestions that hit the most interesting trails just ask.

Yeah, I was kind of looking for some more technical trails. We didn't go on the other side of upper lake. We stayed on the same side of the trail head off Rockville Rd. Are the more technical trails on the other side?

Yeah, I was kind of looking for some more technical trails.

There are plenty of technical bits in the park. Anything marked in red on this old map is techy and good either up or down, with the exception of the three descents in Tilley's and the hike-a-bike that intersects Technical near the end.
