Training & Nutrition - whats worse?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

this may sound random and useless, but its not. whats worse, not riding for two years or a year of chemo?
I would say a year of chemo. You don't have the burden of fighting for your life by just taking a couple years off the bike.

Chemo, by a long long way, is worse.
I quit racing in 2001 because my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer and my wife had to stop working.
Fast forward 4 years to 2005.
Situation has stabilized enough that i can get back to training and racing. So I got back on the bike, lost 50 lbs.
My mother-in-law is still getting chemo treatments and getting worse.

My Brother died from Leukemia.
I would rather not ride for 10 years than go through one month of Chemo.

i would question the priorities of anyone who would take the chemo option.
