Are there any open courses to the public, just to see if I could do it?

More specificly, if there are such courses, does anybody know of some in MI?

Most races are held on public trails or at least on trails the public is allowed to use. Go to your local shop and ask if they know where the races are held and if they know what routes are used. If they have no clue then ask if they know any of the local racers, most shops will know one or two. If that does not work go to NORBA's web site and search there for your area.
