General Cycling Discussion - Lance links to BikeForums

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

with all the recent talk about Bike Forums I did a
google search and came up with this link:
Lance Armstrong Official website (http://www.lancearmstrong.com/lance/online2.nsf/html/links)
and Lance has links to BIKE FORUMS!

So in answer to all those questions, yeah
I would bet that Lance has posted here
(or at least has lurked in the past!).

Velocipedio, I know you can't stand another
Lance Thread, but I think this is important given
the negative press we have recently gotten.

A while back I started a thread, (jokingly) that Lance and other pros were members of BF, using psuedanames (sp) . Maybe unwittingly I wasn`t to far away from the truth ;)

This thread... (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18474) This thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18476) and this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18470&highlight=Qaeda) contain the story as it unfolded.

Basically, bikeforums.com was hacked. Someone posted an Al Qaeda website there. CNN.com picked up on this and published the news. Bikeforums.com was taken down (bikeforums.net still worked). We had a flood of visitors looking for the Al Qaeda site. It was weird and scary.

As I was reading about it last night while it unfolded, my hometown's Downtown Christmas Walk started setting off fireworks.

Do you think he really told the webmaster what links he wanted in there? Maybe a few, hopefully this was one of them. I admire Armstrong but i'm not a big fan, it would be neat to have someone with that amount of knowledge in the forums. Offhand, I can only think of a couple contributors that could be cloaked pros. Hmmmm... any ideas? :D

I actually send an email to the webmaster of lance's website, he checked out the forums, thought they were great, and linked back.

That site does send about 15 - 20 people a day to the forums, it wouldn't surprise me that lance has atleast seen the forums...

Also he was on the (NBC) today show. Maybe he wanted to ride with the NYC Mayor.

What a load!

Now that you mention it, Pokey always sticks up for Dura-Ace.

You might be on to something...........
