Well, at least part time. Today I made my first bike commute to work. It is 9.5 miles one way and took me 43 minutes into a 9mph headwind. I've read many helpful comments on this forum but the biggest reason I haven't done it before is the fear of being without a car. That is the only reason I can think of why I haven't done it sooner.

I plan on riding to work 2 to 3 days a week. Possibly more once I get a few other issues resolved. I can't wait for the ride home. I think I might take a little longer route home since it is such a nice day today in Michigan.

Yahoo, fun isn't it.

Put a $10 bill in your cookie jar each day you ride for bike goodies. This is the amount you are saving each day by cyclocommuting vs motoring.

Awesome! I've found that I actually like being without a car - I'm no longer expected to drive to lunch when the gang goes out :)

Excellent! I'm in my first full week of commuting and absolutely love it. I wish it was something that I had started years ago but I have many more years left to enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been!

Yeah, I was wondering that the other day. I also wondered why I didn't think of it sooner. I have only been doing it for 1 out of 21 years. To be honest, I think it just never ocurred to me. I view it as alot of missed opportunity. I have always lived within a good commuting distance from work with good routes.
