Went on a night ride. Besides my light dimming is was fun!!!
The dude I was riding with totally kicked my butt, he was freakin fast and smooth. I've never seen someone slice through corners like he did. Anyway, I haven't ridden my MTB fast and hard in a long time, and this was great.

The adrenaline, speed and the feeling of smoothness...I have never felt a better feeling.

I was so stoked after the night ride that I went MTBing again today. I wasn't planning on riding fast because I had my bros with me, but I let them start a few mintues before me, and then my chain broke. By the time I got started they had an easy 20 minutes on me, probably more than that. So I had my chance to hammer, and hammer I did. I hit 28 mph in one staight away, and averaged 15 through the twisties.

I'm going to ad some MTB races to my racing schedule, and when I pay off my road bike, I'm gonna get a new MTB. The only problem is I want this bikehttp://www.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/2002/bikes/swfsr_d.jpg

But that is 2002!!!

We had one in the shop, and man was it light!!! I didn't get any work done until it left the shop.

It will be interesting to see if Specialized has an S-Works FSR for 2004. So far, I have talked to three MTB racers, and they don't like the Epic. They say the rear is too bulky, and they would rather have a regular FSR with remote lockout.

Either way, I'm going to holdout until the '04 bikes come out to se if they do have a regular FSR, or if the Stumpjumper top line FSR gets better.

You could also do like I did and have the LBS swap out parts for you. I had my own (brand new) wheelset and Avid Mechs they kept the stock wheels, brakeset etc. upgraded my fork, are going to install my stuff for free and cut their own sales price by $75 bucks. I'm gonna love my new baby............right after I pay her off...........alms for the poor.........alms?

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18024 It's not an S-works but I don't care! Boing!
